Symptoms we see often, and how we check before we start. Another car or year can end differently. Use these as a sense of how we work.
Symptom: The engine light came on while driving. The car still accelerated, with a slight stumble at idle.
What we checked: A scan showed history tied to an ignition sensor. We then looked at the wiring and connectors around that sensor on the car.
What we did: The sensor itself was fine. A poor connector contact was the cause, so we cleaned and secured it. No parts swap. We also said what to watch if it came back.
Symptom: Small oil marks on the usual parking spot for a few weeks. Oil level itself had not dropped much.
What we checked: On the lift we followed the seepage path to the oil-pan gasket.
What we did: Not urgent, but likely to spread if left. We suggested a gasket swap at the next visit. That day we cleaned it and watched it.
Symptom: At lights the needle seemed higher than usual. No overheat warning yet.
What we checked: Coolant was a little low, and a hose joint showed slight seepage. The radiator cap was otherwise fine.
What we did: We retightened the clamp, topped coolant to spec, and asked the owner to watch the needle. If it stayed high, they were to call us again.
